Dr. Kevin Hill, one of the authors of Medical Marijuana: A Clinical Handbook, stopped in to speak with the hosts of Stay Young America! last week. The 30-minute podcast is well known for its discussion of timely and important health issues that focus on the latest research, clinical case studies, and interviews with leading scientists and best-selling authors. The show's hosts are wellness expert Judy Gaman and Drs. Walter Gaman and Mark Anderson.
During their chat with Dr. Hill in episode 43, the four talk about the inspiration for the book, the science of cannabis and the endocannabinoid system, and some of the uses of cannabis. "I've been doing research and writing on cannabis for a while, and I think one of the things that has become evident to clinicians like myself and Samoon is that clinicians need more help," Dr. Hill said. "Patients come in every day and they're either interested in cannabinoids like cannabidiol (CBD) or they're already taking these compounds. And so clinicians are really looking for help in that way. They've been clamoring for help and, because of the polarizing nature of the topic, there really aren't very many clinical guidelines to rely upon."
"We wanted to create one resource where clinicians and patients, frankly, could go to get to unbaised information about cannabinoids," he said.
