Dr. Samoon Ahmad, one of the authors of Medical Marijuana: A Clinical Handbook, recently sat down with Heather Allman of Cannabis Law Report. You can read the full interview here.
Throughout the report, Dr. Ahmad stresses the importance of using science and data to guide policy on cannabis and that people on both sides of the aisle often have opinions about cannabis that are more frequently based on ideology and political leanings rather than hard facts. He also highlights the importance of recognizing that there is still a lot we don't know about cannabis largely because of regulatory obstacles that have impeded study, and that there should be a stronger push within the scientific community to remove these hurdles so that we can better understand the potential benefits and risks of cannabis.
